About Me

Steve (Griff) Griffiths

I am a visual artist with a long Celtic family heritage from Cornwall and Wales, living in Somerset with my wife and children, where I work from my studio. A creative, maker, upcycler and problem solver, I have also been a professional cricketer and a primary school teacher. My work is indeed a reflection of my journey so far.

Like everyone else, it has been one of ups and downs; glorious highs and essential failures. I try to inject some fun and colour into my art and remember how fantastic we can be as a species when we just stop and look around us, and I hope it continues along that beautiful and unpredictable path.

All my work marries together contemporary and ever changing design, with a celebration of what has come before. My artistic endeavours have grown around a sense of how we view ‘waste’ and the ‘disposable’ chaos we now find ourselves in. We don’t need to and can’t continue to produce an endless stream of materials, that have one purpose and no regard for the future.
